Reese Witherspoon to Star in New Horror Movie “Our Family Troubles”

Published by admin under natural

Before I get started here I just wanna say that when your child becomes posessed by demons, it constitutes as much more than just simple “Family Troubles”. Family Troubles are “Hey we’re a little behind on the mortgage”. If your kids posessed by demons…well thats more of a 100 alarm family Emergency. With that being said, according to a recent UK Times Online article, Reese Witherspoon fresh off of her performance in “Walk The Line”, will star in an upcoming thriller/horror flick called Our Family Troubles.

The film will cast Reese into the starring role of a deep south residing mother, who battles demons who have posessed her child oh and did I mention Reese is getting a cool 30 million for this pic? Reese shared with the times a little bit more about the movie.

“It’s about a young child in peril, which as a mother I can appreciate,” she said. “There is nothing scarier.”

Reese won’t be the first big name actress to hop off of the drama/romance com. wagon, and delve into the supernatural horror/thriller subgenre. Kate Hudson did it with last years Louisiana set voodoo horror/thriller “The Skeleton Key”. A director has yet to be chosen for “Our Family Troubles” which we will most likely see in 2007 sometime.

Google Local Search And The Impact On Natural Optimization

Published by admin under natural

With the advent of Google Local, a service that helps Web users find local businesses by typing in a search term and a city name, many questions arise concerning its impact on Natural Optimization.

Google Local tracks down local stores and businesses by searching billions of pages across the Web, and then cross-checking these findings with Yellow Pages information to locate the local resources Web users wish to access. In addition to local business listings and related Web links, Google Local also provides maps of the desired region and directions made available by MapQuest. This makes Google Local convenient for Web searchers and extremely useful for local businesses, if their sites are optimized for local-searches. If not, some businesses could be missing out on a tremendous increase in local site visibility and traffic.

Case-in-point: The Home Depot, whose Web site features its own Store Finder with zip code-accessed location listings. Type “Home Depot” into Google Local and while a list of local stores appears, no related local landing pages come up. In fact, none of the related Web links even direct Web users to Home Depot’s home page. Most large sites that have retail stores have a search feature or “enter your zip” option. Google and other Search Engines will never be able to index this content. For retailers looking to increase sales and traffic from their Web sites, this could prove to be a big problem.

The Home Depot is not alone. Countless other large and small businesses alike do not have city-oriented pages accessible through local search sites. Many are not listed in the top 15 return results for related keywords for Google Local, despite their location in the immediate proximity to the search location. Google Local ranks listings based on their relevance to the search terms the user enters, not solely by geographic distance. This means that unless your site has a city and/or county-oriented landing page for each location, Google will not be able to access your contact page, no matter how relevant your site is to a search term, or how close you are in geographic distance.

Natural Optimization specialists never really focused on the optimization of contact and location pages on websites, but now it’s becoming a vital tool to drive more qualified traffic to the sites. In order to make sites local search-ready, they should start creating sitemaps that include every store location and then build individual landing pages for each specific location with a brief overview of the store along with a map and detailed directions. Without this, Google does not have a path to index the pages and information. Doing this small step will increase your qualified traffic as well as increase sales in your retail store or business.

By making your keywords city-specific and including more location-specific information on your site, Google Local can access your contact information and, as a result, drive more related traffic to your site.

The Link is the Thing!

Published by admin under natural

Natural linking, what is it and how do I get it? More importantly, do I need it? If you run an Internet web presence that you want others to find in the search engines then the answer to the latter is YES!

What is natural linking? That is an easy question to answer. Natural linking occurs when someone places a link to your site from another site. The reason that someone might link to your site is not really important, the fact that they placed the link is the only thing that matters.

Some of the reasons that someone might place a link to your site or to a page within your website are:

Your site offers some information that supports a fact or reinforces a position contained within another site.

Your site offers some tools or resources that would be helpful to others.
Your site contradicts a common misconception that others want use to validate their own views on that topic.
Your site represents a controversial viewpoint that others might want to showcase for their own purposes.
Your site is just so very cool that others need to be made aware of it and seeing as my website links to your site, my site must be cool too!

Regardless of the reasons why someone might be linking to your site, these natural links are very important. Even if someone is linking to your site because they think it is a sad joke and they want others to see how bad your site is, it really doesn’t matter.

Knowing that these types of links are important the next question is, “How do you get people to link to your site?” There are several ways you can get people to link to your site with the easiest being, make a useful site. Easier said then done you are thinking eh?

When you think about it, creating a useful site isn’t that difficult, it just requires time. Time to find helpful tools to share with others, time to find sound advice regarding your site’s topic of interest and time to make your site ooze the “It” factor. The amount of time it will take is solely dependent upon how much effort you want to put in to it.

OK, so you finished your site, now what? How do you let people know that your site is ready to amaze others? There are several ways to let people know about your site. If you have a budget set aside you could set up a PPC campaign that may bring in some traffic. You could join groups or forums that share your interest or even better, that are totally opposite to your site’s message or theme. Perhaps one of the best ways is to write articles that others can use on their sites that are seeded with a few well placed links pointing back to your site.

One of the next big trends that is about to take off is, the “Bartered Link”. Bartered links are where you offer space on your site to host an article written by other webmasters, which contain text links to their sites in exchange for a one way link back to your site. Are bartered links considered to be natural links? If they aren’t then they sure do a fine job of mimicking them.

Regardless of the motivation behind someone linking to your site, even if it is because they think your site is bad or your opinion is wrong, just remember this the fact that they did is all that truly matters as the link is the thing.
